Double-sided Medallion: "Unicorn Dionysiaque" and "Dionysos et Pallas Athena."

Auction end date: 8/23/2011
Sale price: $200
Details: 1.25" diameter; seller claims to have originally purchased it around 1981.
NOTE: this medal appears to be associated with Center Art Galleries in Hawaii.  Center Art has been implicated in various questionable behaviours regarding Dali art, so this item is likely an unauthorized work.  If this medal is made of silver (like the original, authorized works were), then there is only about $30 worth of silver value in this medal, making a realistic sale price around $50.  I contacted the buyer to ask why such an outrageous price was paid for a relatively worthless (and likely counterfeit) Dali medallion.  His answer was that he had owned a larger one just like it in 22 kt gold, and it was stolen.  He bought it for "memories."
